I Am An Educated Girl Who Rocks!

Nisha Glenn is a native of East St. Louis, Illinois, which she calls "The Land Of Can't Get Right". She relocated to Saint Louis, Missouri at an early age. Coming from humble beginnings Nisha was raised in an environment where education was not that important, as both her Mother and Father dropped out of school at the age of 16. She knew then that know matter what she was going to break the cycle and finish High School. Not to mention, no one in her immediate family completed high school. Not her aunt, uncle, grandmother, nor grandfather, While in high

School, she was faced with a major obstacle she became pregnant with her first child and through determination and perseverance, was able to complete high school and graduate. She proved then that no matter what you are faced with in life you can always overcome.

After finishing high school, she worked for several years at Mercantile Bank and then at Verizon Wireless. After years of working and raising her family, she was able to work her way through college and earn her Bachelor in Business Administration from Fontbonne University in Saint Louis in 2008.

In 2012, she took a Leap of Faith and opened the doors to Stitches, a women’s boutique in the heart of mid-town Atlanta.  She has always had a passion in the fashion industry where she utilizes her fashion and makeup artistry. She also founded Educated Girls Rock as well as received her Masters in Education in 2013.

Educated Girls Rock was founded to enrich and empower girls by providing them with resources and knowledge through education. The inspiration behind (EGR) came from her wanting to see women succeed through education and not placing limits on their goals and dreams.

She formed this organization with the idea “That every girl should want to see themselves with a cap and gown on”. Having to overcome several obstacles of her own she understood the challenges of graduating under pressure and beating the odds to become successful. "This can be removed" With the recent success of receiving her Master’s Degree in Education, she continued to impress upon students how important it is to be an educated girl: especially one who Rocks.

She also saw this as an outlet for reaching her own highest potential. It was no surprise that the logo of EGR is the infamous "Graduation Cap" because it symbolizes an accomplishment and every girl should experience that feeling when they walk across the stage in their cap and gown.
